About us

The role of Supply Planning is to calculate an optimal production plan for in-house or outsourced manufacturing, taking into account lead times and logistic parameters. This involves balancing supply and demand in the markets to ensure that finished products are available in distribution centers and regional distribution centers at the time of customer orders, and that inventory levels align with business objectives.

The responsibilities include managing relationships with commercial organizations, business groups, manufacturing teams, and suppliers from an end-to-end supply chain perspective. This also involves maintaining accurate master data in SAP and JDA planning systems to enable correct rule-based planning.

Supply Planning is also responsible for managing phase in/phase out process execution from a planning perspective (PDLM), leading monthly SOP supply reviews, defining and reviewing mid and long-term supply plans. The role also involves planning, controlling, and maintaining the short-term master production schedule (MPS) to balance customer demands and inventory levels. Additionally, making allocation proposals in case the order book exceeds capacity/available production slots or material availability, and proactively managing the supply chain by conducting scenario mapping, root cause analysis, and building allocations in case of constraints.

Key performance indicators for Supply Planning include driving the Commercial Supply Chain KPIs such as CSL-Availability, CSP, SRM, and SRMS. Stock management involves tracking inventory as a percentage of MAT sales and monitoring excess and aging stock. Operational KPIs such as Factory CLIP, LAP, and PIPO (Phase-in & Phase-out) e.g. MIP are also part of Supply Planning responsibilities.
