Assist in dispatch = Coordinate the movement of trucks & freight between cities
-Know where all drivers and freight is at all times
-Direct the pick-up and delivery activities of drivers, receive customer's requests for pickup and delivery of freight, consolidate freight orders into full truck loads for specific destinations
- Maintain heavy email communication in/outbound. Follow up
-Receive and make phone calls to schedule orders, confirm pick-ups and delivery
-Take thorough legible notes from customers, vendors and drivers. There are times when the phones are ringing a lot and it can get very hectic, it's important to stay calm, and ask all the correct questions to document thorough information the first time.
-Always answer incoming calls with a positive, enthusiastic attitude with a tone that customers and drivers can hear you when they are in a noisy environment.
-Use slow times to catch up, learn more about the industry, organize and maintain Red Hot logistics for the better good. If needed, ask for a task
-Maintain a constant flow of inbound/outbound email communication with various customers, carriers and vendors
-Monitor national weather, accidents, construction or any road conditions that can affect timely deliveries or pick ups
-Prior to leaving shift, send an email update to team players so anyone can pick up where you left off.

Desired Skills and Experience
1 + years office administration experience or equivalent
* Sel motivated with a preference for engaging in a variety of projects
* Ability to coordinate multiple priorities and deadlines
* Strong organizational and time management skills
* Strong communication/listening skills in order to communicate with providers at different agencies
* Good customer service - Good attitude is a must!
* Ability to engage in independent problem solving
* Judgment skills to make decisions in situations where there are no established procedures
* Microsoft Office capable (primary Word and Excel)
* High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to handle confidential information
* Basic math
