FarmArt is seeking a Category Specialist to develop and maintain our Center of the Plate (COP) category. This role involves managing products, driving category sales, coordinating with vendors, and collaborating with internal teams to meet customer needs. The ideal candidate will stay informed on market trends to optimize product offerings and performance.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Aid in the development of the COP category
- Create and maintain COP category product list
- Promote sales within the category to current and prospective customers
- Support sales team on COP products
- Provide thorough education and training as necessary
- Work with vendors to keep optimal costs and quality throughout the category
- Responsible for the initial procurement within the category
- Assist in category growth through promotional opportunities
- Communicate customer needs and preferences to internal teams, including buyers, operations, sales and customer service.
- Keep the sales team and customer service informed about product availability, quality, and pricing.
- Keep up to date with new product offerings, pricing and trends in the market
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of sales experience, preferably in food service, protein sales, or procurement.
- Excellent verbal, written and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently, promote products, and generate new business.
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Preferred but not required
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Associates Degree in Business.
