Position Overview
Reporting directly to the Supply Chain Manager, the Supply Chain Analyst coordinates production with third party manufacturing sites, performs forecast analysis for procurement and production planning from in-company and third-party vendors. As well as maintain inventory levels at sites across the distribution network.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintains consistent stock of inventory and product distribution across multiple warehouses.
- Assesses inventory reports and order patterns to identify items requiring replenishment.
- Prepares and distributes inventory reports.
- Develops and maintains good working relationships with vendors.
- Maintains accurate daily records of goods received and shipments made.
- Manages and maintains inventory system; facilitates upgrades to related database and/or software
- Conducts frequent spot and partial audits of physical inventory.
- Assists with periodic (at least annual) physical inventory audits.
- Develops and maintains detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites.
- Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
- Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
- Assists with policy development to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
- Identifies optimal shipment and transportation routes with attention to consolidation of warehousing and distribution.
- Negotiates prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
- Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required
- Three years of experience in Supply Chain role required
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience with computerized inventory systems required
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent communication skills with customer service, finance, suppliers, warehouse teams
- Basic understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Proficient keyboarding skills.
- Extremely organized and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Ability to develop professional relationships with outside vendors.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of SAP preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
Must be able to navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low.
