Conroe Wood Products is hiring a temporary licensed (CDL) driver. It will be a 7 week temporary position.
The driver will be making deliveries and pick ups within a 150 miles radius of Houston. With one or two trips a week with in a 250-350 mile radius.
The drivers truck and trailer will be supplied. The truck will be a sleeper cab with a flatbed trailer and a crane attached to it.
Duties:
-Safely operate crane attached to truck to load and unload utility poles from the trailer.
- Safely operate a variety of commercial vehicles, including but not limited to: forklifts, skid steer, flatbed truck, and tractor trailers.
- Load and unload cargo from trucks using appropriate equipment and techniques
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving and operating vehicles
- Plan routes and ensure timely delivery of goods to designated locations
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles to ensure proper maintenance and report any issues or malfunctions
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and other relevant information
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a commercial truck driver
- Valid CDL (Commercial Driver's License) with appropriate T endorsement for the type of vehicle being operated
- Experience with various types of trucks and equipment such as forklifts and flatbeds
- Knowledge of automotive repair and maintenance is a plus
Skills:
- Proficient in operating a forklift to load and unload cargo
- Strong commercial driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to load and unload cargo using proper techniques and equipment
- Excellent navigation skills and the ability to plan efficient routes
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting is a plus

Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
