Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and results-driven Assistant Account Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting customer needs, fostering strong relationships, and driving business growth through effective sales strategies. This role requires a blend of technical sales expertise and account management skills to meet the needs of our clients while contributing to the overall success of the organization.

Duties

Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
Conduct warm calling to identify new business opportunities and expand existing accounts.
Provide quotes to customers.
Produce load documents.
Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement appropriate solutions, serving as an expert to our customers.
Engage in business development activities to identify potential leads and convert them into clients.
Stay informed about industry developments, technology advancements, and competitive landscape.
Support the account manager in coaching and managing a small team.
Provide dispatch support when needed (answer incoming calls, accurately enter data into transportation management system (TMS), communicate with carriers and issue rate confirmations, etc.)

Skills

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
Proven experience in transportation or freight brokerage, demonstrating a strong understanding of transportation industry (1-2 years preferred).
Strong sales acumen with a track record of successful account management.
Proficient in analyzing data and reading people to inform decision-making.
Ability to negotiate effectively, ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for both clients and the company.
Experience in business development, showcasing an ability to identify opportunities for growth within existing accounts.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on delivering results.
