Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Farm Worker/Delivery Driver. This role is essential in maintaining the productivity and efficiency of our small and diverse farm operation. Housing and a food allowance is included. The ideal candidate will have a passion for small scale farming, a willingness to learn, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities will include various tasks related to vegetable and cut flower crop cultivation, equipment operation, and general farm maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Help with delivery routes to Jackson.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment and power tools for various farming tasks.
- Assist in the irrigation of crops, ensuring proper water supply for optimal growth.
- Work in greenhouses to cultivate plants, monitor growth conditions, and manage pest control.
- Utilize hand tools effectively for planting, weeding, and harvesting crops.
- Provide care for animals as needed, including feeding and milking.
- Perform routine maintenance on farm machinery and equipment to ensure safe operation.
- Participate in growing cycles from planting through harvest, adhering to best agricultural practices.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve production goals while maintaining high standards of quality.
Experience
- Previous experience in farming or agricultural work is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential.
- Experience driving a truck pulling a trailer is necessary.
- Familiarity with mechanical knowledge related to farm equipment operation is a plus.
- Experience with heavy equipment operation will be advantageous.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks associated with farming activities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices on the farm.
