Job summary:

This role coordinates the MGN Brokerage program, oversees a Landscape book of business, and facilitates other sales related projects, as needed.

Job description:

Facilitate the MGN brokerage program & logistics in order to fill supply gaps and extend the MGN footprint across all customer channels.
1. Identify market area needs to support sales team
2. Generate PO’s & manage within financial targets
3. Manage BRO availability quantities & comments
4. Grow margin, volume, and product offerings by expanding the Brokerage channel
5. Optimize inventory flow and sell-through cadence
Provide and coordinate sourcing solutions to fulfill (profitably) landscape bid requests
Coordinate with BRO field Supervisor to ensure optimum space utilization, minimal crop maintenance, and minimal shrink
1. Ensure receiving process is managed
Develop and manage the MGN vendor database
Optimize and document BRO SOP’s
Provide market intelligence to and participate in MGN Strategic Planning sessions
Manage and grow an existing segment of the MGN Landscape book of business (Houston)
Grow the Houston Landscape book of business
Work with the Tissue Culture Division to strategically cross-sell TC liners to brokerage vendors
Complete other sales/nursery functions as needed

Key Skills:

Live goods buying experience
Transportation and supply chain logistics coordination
Direct selling experience within the landscape, wholesale, and retail segments of the industry
Experience with the Landscape job bidding process
Relationships within the Landscape Architecture Network
Proficient at proposals, negotiating terms and conditions and implementing contractual agreements

Job Requirements:

Candidates must have a high school diploma, college degree preferred
At least five years of live goods purchasing
At least three years of wholesale lawn and garden related selling experience
Professional negotiation training
Professional sales training
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
Proficiency in navigating and utilizing and ERP system
Bilingual (Spanish & English) a plus
