Job Summary: The Materials Manager will oversee the planning, strategic & operational procurement, storage, control and distribution of materials and products according to company needs and customer requirements. Manages the purchasing, logistics and warehouse control functions. Provides support to production scheduling on all material flow issues to meet production schedules and customer requirements. Interfaces with production planning and sales groups in forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments. Responsible for all aspects of supply chain management, including supplier selection, development, and evaluation.
What you will be doing:

Directs personnel in purchasing, customer service and warehouse operations.

Participate and oversee strategic & operational purchasing of productive and on-productive inventory.

Manges purchasing, customer service, freight, inventory, and warehouse for optimization.

Maintenance of warehouse, customer service and inventory procedures.
-
Support the sales & production groups to optimize the inventory levels.

Leads year-end physical inventory & establishes procedures for conducting and valuing.

Maintains and ensures accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.

Maintains inventory levels to ensure deliveries occur within customer timelines.

Implement & execute new ideas while maintaining cost reduction, quality & delivery targets.

Negotiate strategic supplier and service contracts.

Monitor key performance indicators.

Handles employee hiring, development, performance evaluations, discipline & terminations within company policy.

Oversees shipping and receiving functions related to purchased parts and finished goods.

Performs write-offs on damaged or obsolete inventory to reflect accurate value of inventory.

Follow safe work practices and keep the work area clean and organized.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Requirements:
What you will bring to the team:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field required.

Five years of experience in materials control field required.

Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.

Proficient with inventory reporting systems.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
