Position Overview
Our client is seeking a highly organized and proactive Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the daily movement of the fleet of trucks. In this role as the Dispatcher, you will be the key liaison between drivers, customers, and internal teams, ensuring that deliveries are scheduled, tracked, and completed efficiently and on time. The ideal candidates will thrive in a fast-paced environment and have strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Responsibilities Of The Dispatcher
- Schedule and dispatch drivers for pickups and deliveries based on customer needs and company resources.
- Monitor real-time driver locations using GPS and dispatch software.
- Track shipments and communicate ETAs to clients and internal teams.
- Respond to driver and customer inquiries regarding routes, delays, or issues on the road.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch logs, delivery times, routes, and driver hours.
- Assist with route planning to ensure fuel efficiency and timely deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies.
- Communicate with Maintenance teams regarding truck availability and readiness.
- Review and approve driver hours and trip reports for payroll and compliance.
Required Experience/Skills for the Dispatcher:
- Previous experience in dispatching in trucking or logistics.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and trucking operations.
- Proficient in dispatch or transportation management systems (TMS).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
