Position:
ZOLA Electric Labs is seeking a Vice President, Supply Chain for our San Francisco location. If you are selected for this role, you will play a critical role in our global mission as an integral member of the Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Founder and CEO.
The VP, Supply Chain will build and lead Zola’s supply chain management and capabilities, including: materials procurement, capital purchase negotiations, sourcing, order fulfillment, New Product Introduction (NPI), quality and supply chain strategy and development. The supply chain team supports global production facilities, as well as planned worldwide expansions.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to the following:
- Participate as a member of the Leadership Team in the development of the 3-year Corporate Strategy and identify a collection of strategic initiatives to drive overall corporate objectives
- Develop the 3 yr. Supply Chain strategy aligned to the overall company strategy, including development of the product roadmap as a member of the product Steering Committee
- Drive cross functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Operations, Finance and GTM teams in the development of the annual SC business plan integrated into the corporate strategy
- Deep supply chain experience with battery, inverter, PCBA, high tech manufacturing processes and technologies
- Performing supply market and supplier analysis, supply planning, negotiating, contracting, supplier management and performance management (i.e. compliance, use of total cost of ownership models, etc.)
- Manage order fulfilment, planning (including S&OP), sourcing, quality engineering, NPI, logistics, inventory management, cost reductions, CM management
- Manage global logistics – 3PLs, freight forwarders, sea and land transportation, insurance, risks, etc.
- Collaborate with senior executives to establish supply chain, logistics, and production performance metrics and goals, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Keep abreast of new developments in the fields of supply chain and manufacturing to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the function
- Identify potential risks in the manufacturing supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them, such as contingency plans for supply disruptions
- Develop and monitor divisional annual budget based on operational and financial targets
- Build, tool and manage the supply chain organization across budgeting, recruiting, goal setting (OKRs), coaching/mentoring, performance management.
- Design and implement scalable ERP/data systems, tools, and SOPs across the Supply Chain effort to drive visibility, efficiency and cost control.
- Oversee the management of documentation to ensure availability and ease of retrieval at all times
Requirements:
- 10+ years experience in Supply Chain Management, of which 5+ years is in a management/leadership role
- Knowledge and experience in implementing ERP or supply chain management systems
- Knowledge of procurement methodologies, quality, sourcing, strategies and outsourcing across batteries, inverters, PCBA
- Knowledge of global supply chain management, particularly in low cost geographies including Asia
- Strong NPI experience a plus, including deep working relationship with PM and Engineering
- Knowledge of Lean and Six-sigma practices
- MBA/MS in Engineering Management is a plus
- Travel is required
