Title: Senior Buyer - Indirect
Position Summary:
This position is recognized as a strategic buyer responsible for procurement of indirect materials and services for certain commodities in support of all business sectors in the Americas. This position will collaborate with multiple site facility leaders and work within the global procedures for Strategic Purchasing.
Key Accountabilities:
- Process purchasing award summaries and purchasing documents for suppliers directly related to maintenance, repair and operational goods and services within RRPS global compliance policies.
- Develop sourcing lists and monitor supplier performance.
- Aggressively resolve all pricing, invoicing, and contract related issues with the suppliers
- Negotiate pricing, terms and annual contracts with suppliers, especially for goods and services utilized at RRSA operational facilities in Aiken, SC and Mankato, MN.
- Analyze supplier cost/pricing information and benchmark the competition.
- Manage purchase requisition queue, vendor invoice management queue.
- Maintain open communication between internal departments, management, and suppliers.
- Actively identify, drive, and support cost savings initiatives
- Support the implementation of a standardized process approach utilizing common forms, measurements, and structure.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices.
- Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct
- Perform special projects as required.
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Materials Management, Finance or Packaging Engineering, and 5 years of procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management experience; or 7 years of experience in procurement, materials management, supplier cost analysis, or supply chain management.
- In order to be considered for this role, you must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S, Permanent Resident.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specific knowledge of site professional services and facilities management procurement processes
- Experience developing and executing contracts and service level agreements.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others.
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Excellent working knowledge of purchasing practices and procedures.
- Strong financial/cost analysis skills and problem-solving ability when issues are complex.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and follow-up skills
- Excellent oral, written and presentation communication skills, and the ability to understand the needs of the internal customer.
- Strong ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently with little direction.
- Ability to learn commodity processes at supplier locations.
- Ability to travel on a limited basis.
- Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite
- Minimum 5 years of experience handling confidential, sensitive matters with discretion.
Working Conditions:

While performing tasks for this position, the employee is regularly requested to perform work on a computer inside and occasionally outside of the work environment. Finally, the employee will be frequently requested to perform tasks in environmental conditions where there are unpleasant odors and gases. Please note, the conditions can be hazardous.
While performing physical demands of the position, occasionally the employee will be occasionally requested to stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and squat. Also, the employee will be regularly requested to sit within a particular work environment. Next, the employee will frequently be requested to walk inside and outside the work environment. Finally, an employee will be regularly requested to grasp and manipulate items in a manoeuvrable manner to perform daily tasks.

Pay Range
$78,778 - $118,168-Annually
